Overnight Baker

Ensure timely arrival and consistent attendance to shifts beginning at 1 AM.
Responsible for baking the day’s bagels to quality standards and time parameters.
Baking a variety of breakfast pastries and bread
Making necessary adjustments to the shift as required to bake a consistent product.
Prep toppings and ingredients for the following day’s bake.
Organize and pack all baked goods and bagels in a timely manner to other outlets with minimal error.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Helping day bakers begin dough production. Counting, scaling, mixing, forming and proofing all varieties of bagel dough
Help with daily and periodic equipment and bakery space cleaning to keep us in compliance with wholesale production standards.

Baker

Understanding recipes in grams, pounds and ounces
Ensure timely arrival and consistent attendance to shifts beginning at 6 AM.
Counting, scaling, mixing, forming and proofing all varieties of bagel dough
Responsible for mixing, baking, and finishing a variety of baked goods (brownies, rice krispies, quick breads, focaccia).
Produce items that meet Tandem’s quality standards at or above established productivity guidelines
Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols
Capable of working independently, multitasking and managing time effectively
Help with daily and periodic equipment and bakery space cleaning to keep us in compliance with wholesale production standards

Production Assistant

Ability to stand for long periods of time and work closely with others
Selecting bagels for cafes that meet our quality standards with high accuracy
Lifting 50# of product (flour, eggs, cream cheese) at a time. Cutting and lifting dough ranging from 20#-40# out of a mixing bowl
Prepping large batches of eggs with the ability to organize and sort accordingly
Understanding of and ability to follow a metric recipes for a variety of pastries, dressings, condiments, and specialty allergen offerings
Scaling, mixing, scooping cream cheese production that meet our quality standards with high accuracy
Prepping produce for the cafe and following recipes for prep salads
Use of large bakery (ovens, mixers, slicers) equipment safely after training
End of shift cleaning tasks that meet our facility standards daily

Cafe Help

Providing exceptional guest service.
Greeting and thanking guests as they come and go.
Working different stations with flexibility: cashier, sandwich, barista, prep or dish as needed.
Making sure orders are being taken and fulfilled in a timely manner.
Making orders according to Tandem Standards (food and drinks).
Keeping up on your station's side work throughout the day.
Keeping stations cleaned throughout shifts and cleaning stations at the end of the day for closing.
Working as a Team no matter what station you are assigned too.
Keeping the café clean and organized, even during the busy rushes.
Follow safe work practices during your shift.

Cafe Assistant

Expediting and running food to guests, either to tables or calling out to-go orders/handing orders over to guests.
Cleaning tables and chairs after guests leave inside and outside of café.
Cleaning up spills or accidents that might occur in the café area.
Cleaning and stocking bathrooms and drink coolers.
Cleaning and keeping up on the coffee self-serve station for guests.
Assisting guests at the pick up window (Hadley location only) or online ordering/staging area.
Running to stock items/supplies that cafe help may need for the sandwich line or barista stations.
Help to ensure trash bins and bus bins are emptied and clean.
Sometimes will assist in dishwashing and/or food prep.
Assist with closing tasks which include, but aren’t limited to: sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, wiping down tables/chairs, and taking out trash/cardboard etc.
